A Visit From Sarah

Fellow blogger Sarah came to town a few weeks ago.  I first met her while she devoted a year of her life as a Vincentian Volunteer here in St. Louis.  She interned for a non-profit who may or may not be my employer.  Her internship was filled with trips to client homes helping secure air conditioners and amassing community resource lists.  She worked diligently as a grant writer and her photographs were beautiful and moving. 

When we first met Sarah we thought she was one of those uber-conservative types that would pass judgment (pot meet kettle) and be no fun.  WE WERE SO WRONG!  "Sister" Sarah was very fun and laid back and we do miss her very much.  I'm grateful that she has continued blogging as it allows me a way to keep up with her life now that she's back on the east coast working on her masters.

For her visit we brought in Ted Drewes frozen custard - a St. Louis specialty.  A regular treat in our little world.

The frozen custard arrived with little blocks of dry ice that someone plopped into the sink... and I may have spent more than a few minutes watching the resulting "smoke"
