Friday Fragments - Feb 19, 2010
Go to Half Past Kissin' Time and check out all of the other people participating in Friday Fragments, where we all post the bits and pieces of our week that don't quite make a full blog post.
This week I made attempts at keeping notes of things that would make a good Fragmented Friday post. And this is what I have:
*Reading The White Queen... since November.
*armpit hair
*little mermaid
I ought to leave my list standing without explanation. Maybe I should open it up to your speculation. Oh that would be entertaining.
In fact, I'll give a huge gap and let you guess in the comments and then you can come back and see if you were right.

*Reading The White Queen... since November. I'm a miserably slow reader, but this is really taking it to the max. Clearly I'm not hooked on this book that I will gobble it up in a matter of days. But I do like it. Blogging and playing Mafia Wars has taken up my reading time so I've relegated the book to the hour I'm sitting on the staircase outside the gymnasium during my son's hockey practice. Unfortunately the last two practices he played goalie and I kept my eyes glued on him, not my book. AND tonight I'm headed to the bookstore for The Dead Travel Fast by Deanna Raybourn. It's not supposed to be released until March 1st but stores are already rolling it out. THIS BOOK I will gobble up in a matter of hours. I have loved her other books and not because she's an online friend who when I finally meet her face to face we will laugh like we've known each other for many years - well we have.
*armpit hair. This was a stumper, wasn't it? Knowing I have a 12 yr old son may start to explain it. He's been so obsessed with Mustache Watch that he was surprised to find hair sprouting someplace else. And proudly showed it to me. One lone hair and he is excited. I'll be happy to never know if or when it sprouts elsewhere.
*little mermaid. An ongoing battle in our house is the Netflix list. We came to a compromise that every other item on the list is from my "crappy" chick flick selections. Well imagine his dismay when Little Mermaid II showed up in the mailbox. "What the hell is this shit???" And yet, he sat there and watched it. I was fully willing to save it until the morning and watch it when no one is around, but no, The Husband and my son sat there, quiet, no heckling. I don't think they enjoyed it, but they were at least respectful and allowed me to watch how a redheaded mermaid became the apple of her father's eye. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is coming sometime next week. I don't expect the boys to be nearly as compliant with that one.
And for something NOT on the reminder list - I'm a guest blogger today! Yippee! It's technically through my parenting blog, but I figure it's okay if I mention it here too. It hasn't been posted as of 7:35 am, I'm pretty sure she's busy with mom stuff at the moment, but go ahead and check out Speaking From The Crib and at some point you'll see ME.

I can't wait to see everyone's speculation about my list!
