A Rockwell Breakfast

I gravitate back to this picture every time I scan past it.  Doesn't it scream something from Rockwell?  This isn't something I lifted from a 1950's magazine.  Nope, it was found in with my grandmother's collection of photographs.  That's my grandpa on the left, the other two people are family friends, the Ferguson's.

I stare at it, hoping to see something new.  Just this morning I noticed the little juice cups, Mrs. Ferguson is holding one.  I'm quite sure I have that glass in my possession!

At one point I was collecting shotglasses.  In my family if it's discovered you collect anything you will be bombarded with so many of the desired item that you will cry uncle and swear off never wanting to see another one ever again.  So I suddenly had (still have) a killer collection of shotglasses.  My grandmother rummaged through her vast collection of packrat crap and dug out a set of glasses that she called "jiggers".

My love of antiques compelled me to accept the donation.  These glasses were four ounces, each ounce marked off with an amusing cartoon caricature, usually warning of impending drunkenness.  Simply, I love them.

In the top picture, it's clear that the jiggers aren't being used for alcohol, but just as juice glasses.  I think Norman Rockwell would approve.
